I suffer from chronic wanderlust. I've done so since age 8, when I took my first cruise with my parents. Since then, I've racked up tens of thousands of travel miles, four African Safaris, trips to Alaska, Singapore, Thailand, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Canada, USA, every European country, Middle East etc. And I did it all on a budget which meant I got more bang for my money without sacrificing either comfort or experience.

"My travel addiction is sharper now and more nuanced" she says. Throughout my life, I've been fascinated by those intrepid souls who dare to venture beyond the familiar, seeking adventure over the horizon and in distant places. When I lived in Berkshire, England, our home stood close to the flightpath to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). On perfect cloudless nights, with bated breath, I'd scan the sky for Heathrow's legendary 'string of pearls'. This celestial necklace, composed of around ten aircraft, maybe more, lined up for their final approach, would materialize like magic. Their landing lights pierced the darkness, creating a dazzling chain of starry pearls against the inky canvas of night. In my mind's eye, I'd assign each glowing orb an exotic origin like Rome, Bora Bora, Istanbul, Bali, Zanzibar—weaving a tapestry of global connections right above my head. These moments, filled with wonder and possibilities, fuelled my fascination with the world beyond and the travellers who dared to explore it.

During a recent, awe-inspiring safari in Zambia, I felt an irresistible urge to share my passion for travel and the tools I've discovered for finding incredible deals. This inspiration was behind the creation of vondalust.com. Our mission? To connect wanderlust-filled souls with far-flung destinations, offering insider knowledge on scoring cheap flights, luxurious yet affordable hotels, budget-friendly car rentals, and unique Airbnb experiences. This is where my journey begins, and I invite you to join us. Why not come along and add an exciting new chapter to your own adventure story? Where will you head off to next? Which enduring personal memories will you create

Hello, I'm Michele. I suffer from Wanderlust.. I just love to travel
Hi, I'm Yemmi. I am the klutz who summered in Antarctica! Don't judge me

My fascination with travel began as a 5 year year old, who waved endlessly to aeroplanes as they passed overhead. The other kids called me "Sky Eye" because of my uncanny ability to spot the tiniest aircraft in the sky.

At age 12, I went on my first 'Walking Safari' in Northern Nigeria, watching Cheetahs lying in ambush, even as the tall savannah grass watched over me. In the time since, I have visited all six continents (seven, if you count Australia) and nearly 100 countries. On my journeys, what struck me the most was the quiet courage of travellers and adventurers, who left behind familiarity, family and friends, for the thrill, excitement and the solitude of wanderlust.

Over the years, my passion for travel turned into my profession, and I spent about a decade at Manchester Airport, England, as CIO or Chief Information Officer. Later, I advanced to the role of Director of Technology & Innovation. Prior to my stint at Manchester, Siemens UK appointed me Technology Design Authority at Britain's pioneering holiday charter airline, Britannia Airways (now TUI), where I oversaw the design and implementation of technology solutions for passenger experience and aircraft maintenance & service, across Britannia's fleet of 119 Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft.

As a Digital Nomad, I have the freedom to live and work anywhere in the world. Lately, I've been drawn to the idea of briefly calling Vermont home. Captivated by the magic of its seasons and rolling hills, I envision arriving there in the spring, when nature blossoms anew, and departing at the end of fall, just as the chill sets in and the trees shed their leaves, standing bare and cold. In the past, I've wintered in Eagan, a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, and I vowed then that I would never winter in America again. Instead, I plan to leave Vermont as autumn wanes and the light of winter coming pervades the greys of December.

This is my story. I invite you to write your next adventure and the next one and the one after that with us.
